The Advertising Distribution Service (ADS) is one of the most cost effective ways for businesses to advertise directly to the students on campus.  The distribution of flyers, whether they are dropped in dorms, handed out on sidewalks, or placed under windshield wipers,  is against University rules.  The cost of this service is reasonable and can be tailored to fit your needs.   Distribution can take place to all students in our seven communities, or certain communities can be targeted.  We can even send your advertising to the faculty and staff.  Contact the Campus Mail Services at (607) 777-2403 or mailsvce@binghamton.edu with any questions.         

Please submit ad copy prior to printing for review and approval!

Rates:

The ADS fee is based on a sliding scale.  When 6400 pieces are placed in the students mail boxes, the next mailing will be at a lower rate.  When another 6400 pieces are distributed, the lowest rate will then become effective.  Distribution counts/discounts are for the current academic year only. 

Size of the mail piece is also a factor in distribution costs.  Multi-page, large, or oddly shaped ad copy will cost more.  The lowest rates are reserved for single sheet advertising.  Single sheets must be tri-folded or measure a maximum of 3.75 X 8.5 inches.

 Coupon Booklets and Magazines under 4 ounces

$0.16 per piece First 6400 pieces
$0.14 per piece Second 6400 pieces
$0.12 per piece All other mailings

Oversized Ads and/or weighing over 4 ounces

$0.30 per piece First 6400 pieces
$0.28 per piece Second 6400 pieces
$0.26 per piece All other mailings

Restrictions

There are certain requirements ad copy must meet:

  • Vulgar or sexually offensive material is not permitted
  • Ad copy can not give the impression that the product/material is university endorsed
  • The University logo or mascot can not be used
